Palampur ist eine kleine Stadt im Kangra-Tal in Himachal Pradesh, die vor allem f\u00fcr ihre Teeplantagen bekannt ist. Unser Hostel befand sich aber einige Kilometer bergauf in einer Gegend namens Bandla, wo es sehr ruhig war. Auch wenn wir Mcleod Ganj sehr m\u00f6gen, ist es dort sehr touristisch. Hier war genau das Gegenteil der Fall. Deshalb war in der Fabrik nicht viel los und es gab Niemanden, der uns herumf\u00fchren konnte. Nachdem wir nett gefragt hatten, erkl\u00e4rte sich ein freundlicher Mitarbeiter bereit, uns kurz die Fabrik zu zeigen. Da wir schon vorher Teefabriken besucht haben und auch noch an weiteren Orten besuchen werden, waren wir nicht sehr entt\u00e4uscht. Es war ein sch\u00f6ner 1,5-st\u00fcndiger Spaziergang durch die Landschaft und kleine Siedlungen. Wir konnten Familien sehen, die auf den Feldern arbeiteten, und Gruppen von Kindern, die von der Schule kamen, uns zuwinkten und \u201cHallo\u201d riefen. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image \u00fcbernachtete im Hostel ein junges belgisches Paar (die einzigen Ausl\u00e4nder, die wir w\u00e4hrend unseres Aufenthalts in Palampur gesehen haben). An unserem zweiten und letzten Abend gingen wir gemeinsam in Cliffy's Cafe essen. Das Caf\u00e9 war sehr stimmungsvoll und servierte modernes s\u00fcdindisches Essen. It was a basic, one man operated eatery. After Mcleod Ganj\u2019s endless offer on anything a tourist would want to eat, it was nice for a change to have some basic Indian food and to be among locals. After our meals the owner Rana offered Seri bidis (tobacco rolled in a leaf) and cigarettes one after another. Wir wussten, dass die Reise lang sein w\u00fcrde, aber sie stellte sich als viel l\u00e4nger und komplizierter heraus als erwartet. Unser Plan war es, den ersten Teil mit der Schmalspurbahn zu fahren, die auch als Spielzeugeisenbahn bezeichnet wird, und wir freuten uns sehr
